STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 1903, page 8, column 1 STEPHEN CALVIN, 08 May 1829 - 13 Apr 1903 Stephen Calvin died at his home two miles southeast of Metz last Monday evening, April 13th, at five o'clock. He had been in poor health for a number of years, but his iron constitution seemed to defy disease until about ten days ago when it was evident that his days were numbered. Uncle Steve, as he was familiarly called, was well known in this vicinity, and very highly respected. He will be greatly missed. He was one of God's noblemen. They are buried at Metz Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana, Stephen in Row 11, stone 9, and Lucinda in Row 11, stone 3. Possible parents could be Stephen Calvin who died 20 Oct 1887, aged 79 years, and Mary Calvin who are buried together at Metz Cemetery, Row 10, stone 1. Son, Frank Calvin, 1866 - 1896, buried at Metz Cemetery, Row 11, stone 8. Daughter, Elva Calvin, 1869 - 1899, buried at Metz Cemetery, Row 11, stone 7.
