Steuben-Republican  February or March 1888

        Lafayette Case died of consumption at his home in Pleasant Lake, 
February 18, 1888 age 43 years and 17 days.  He was born in Pleasant 
township, Steuben county,  and has always resided in said county.  He 
was married to Zella E. Snider, December 25,1869.  He was the father of 
three children, two sons and one daughter, whom with his wife survive 
him.  He was a true husband and an affectionate father, a kind neighbor 
and a good citizen and his loss is keenly felt.  He was a patient 
sufferer and trusting in Jesus, was not afraid to die.  He said the way 
was bright and clear and the future was all right with him.
