STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 11, 1900, pg.4, col.3 LYDIA (SATTISON) CASE, 24 Jun 1818 - 04 JUL 1900 Lydia Sattison was born June 24th, 1818, in Lebanon county, Pa., and departed this life at the home of her son, Fred Case, in Otsego township, Steuben county, Indiana, July 4th, 1900, aged 82 years and ten days. She was one of a family of seven children. When but a small child her parents moved to Niagara county, New York, and from there to Huron county, Ohio, in 1836. She was united in marriage to Wm. Case in 1839 and to this union was born six children, three sons and three daughters. One son, Cyrus, was killed in the war of the rebellion. Mr. and Mrs. Case came to Steuben county, Indiana, the same year of their marriage and settled on a farm in Otsego township, which has ever since been her home. She endured many of the hard ships of pioneer life. Mr. Case died in 1867, and many of the cares of the farm fell upon her. She was a kind neighbor and loving mother. Three brothers, five children, twenty two grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren mourn her departure. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Hamilton, Elder J. H. Two infants, no dates or ages, are buried with William L. and Lydia Case. Cyrus Case, mustered 16 Dec 1863 with Co. C., 12th Cav. 127th Reg., killed at Huntsville, Ala, 30 Sep 1864. www.familysearch.org has a Lidia Satazahn, christened 29 Aug 1819, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Johnstown, Lebanon, Pa.
