ADELAIDE (JOHNSON) CASTELL, 28 JUL 1841 - 27 DEC 1911

               ADELAIDE (JOHNSON) CASTELL

   Was born in West Avon, Livingston county, New York, 
July 28th, 1841.  She came with her parents to Indiana in 
1844, and settled on the place which has been her home 
continuously ever since.  February 20, 1867, she was 
united in marriage with John Castell, who remains to 
mourn her departure.  In early life she gave her heart 
to Christ and united with the Presbyterian church in 
Angola, and later, for convenience, she united with the 
U.B. church at Silver Lake chapel.  She died Dec. 27, 
1911, after an illness of over two years, aged 70 years.
   The funeral service and burial were at Mt. Zion, 
Steuben county, Indiana, and were conducted by Rev. John 
Humfreys of Angola.

   Adelaide (Johnson) Castell, 28 Jul 1841 - 27 Dec 
1911, on 20 Feb 1867, married John Castell, 05 Jul 1837 
- 23 May 1915 (date per cemetery book).  They are buried 
at Mt. Zion cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Adelaide was the daughter of Ebenezer Johnson, 10 
Apr 1811 - 02 Feb 1904, and his 1st wife, Maryett (_____)
Johnson, born about 28 Jun 1810 - 14 Sep 1870.  His 2nd 
wife was Harriett (____) Johnson who died 15 Jun 1882, 
aged 40 years.  They are buried at Old Angola Cemetery, 
Angola, Steuben County, IN.
   John, born in Oxfordshire, England, was the son of 
John Castell, 03 Aug 1814 - 15 Oct 1892, and Hannah 
(Stanley) Castell, 26 Sep 1810 - 05 Dec 1885.  John and 
Hannah area buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, 
Steuben County, IN.

SIBLINGS OF ADELAIDE'S HUSBAND, JOHN CASTELL:

   Ann Elizabeth Castell, born in 1844 in Oxfordshire, 
England, died in 1917.  Buried in Circle Hill Cemetery.
   David Castell, born 24 Sep 1842 in Oxfordshire, 
England; died 17 Dec 1888 (aged 46 years, 2 months and 
23 days).  His funeral card says born 05 Jul 1844.  He 
is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Elizabeth A. Castell, 28 Aug 1849 - 17 Sep 1850.  She 
is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Hannah Matilda Jane Castell, born in Warwick, 
England, 28 Sep 1840, died 07 Jan 1905.  She is buried 
at Circle Hill Cemetery.
   Thomas Stanley Castell, 01 May 1839 - 11 Jul 1906, 
married Anna Jeanette (Parish) Castell, 30 Mar 1858 - 31 
Jan 1945.  They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
