Obituary: Chapin, Nancy Kelly Steuben-Republican 3 March 1860 P. 2 Clm. 7 In Orland, on the morning of the 16th ult., Nancy Kelly, wife of Josiah Chapin; aged 79 years 10 months and 20 days. Mrs. Chapin was born in Dummerston, Windham County, Vermont, March 27th 1780. Removed at an early age to Wardsboro in the same county, where she married and in the Spring of 1836, emigrated with her children to Orland, where she resided until her decease. She was a firm believer in the Christian Religion and her life was marked by its morality and Christian spirit, while her rare social qualities made her a favorite of both old and young. One of the oldest persons in the county, and a pioneer in its settlement, she has followed in the grave, one by one, all her children, and leaved her husband with whom she has shared the joys and sorrows of life, for more than fifty-six years, and a large circle of relatives and friends to morn her loss.
