KAY LASH COLLECTION, CARNEGIE PUBLIC LIBRARY, ANGOLA, STEUBEN COUNTY, INDIANA SAMUEL CLARK, 21 JUN 1836 - 03 NOV 1905 SAMUEL CLARK Was born in Stark county, Ohio, June 21, 1836, and died at Hudson, Ind., Friday, Nov. 3, 1905, aged 69 years, 5 months and 12 days. Mr. Clark came to Steuben county, Ind., with his parents when 14 years of age where he has since resided. He was united in marriage to Eliza Jane Meese, March 25, 1863, and to this union were born nine children, three sons and six daughters of which seven with the mother survive. Ira Clark of Hudson, Mrs. Myron Deller and Mrs. O. L. Baker, of York, Mrs. C. F. Hosmer, of Detroit, Mrs. Claud Ball, of Pleasant Lake, Misses Emma and Imogene Clark, of Hudson. Mr. Clark was one of the oldest pioneers of Hudson. He was a hard worker, a good citizen, kind to his family, a good neighbor, and a faithful friend. Of late years he has been unable to work on account of his increasing infirmities. The end came suddenly on Friday resulting from a stroke of apoplexy with which he was stricken on Wednesday afternoon. Surrounded by his sorrowing family and with a bright smile on his face he passed away. The funeral was held at the M. E. church at Hudson, Sun day, Nov. 5. (CLARK) DELLER, 1866 - 1945, on 07 Oct 1866 married Myron V. Deller, 1866 - 1957, son of George Hiram Deller, 15 Feb 1843 - 1923, and Catherine A. (Wolf) Deller, 1843 - 1925. Nettie and Myron are buried at O- HUD Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. George and Catherine are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. EMMA CLARK, spinster, born about 1867/8, living in Hudson, IN. in 1905. No information on place of burial. IRA CLARK, 1870 - 1953, 1st wife was Christina (Blotter) Clark, 1877 - 17 Mar 1923, daughter of John and Salome (Rofutin) Blotter. No information on 2nd wife. Ira and John are buried at Fremont Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. STELLA/ESTELLA MAY (CLARK) BALL, 1874 - 1966, on 12 Nov 1896, married Claude Carl Ball, 1866 - 1932, son of Julius Ball, 30 Sep 1820 - 12 Oct 1904, and his 2nd wife, Lucy A. (Tuttle) Ball, 09 Sep 1829 - 30 Jun 1905. On 13 Aug 1853, Julius married his 1st wife, Mary (Gilson) Ball who died 10 Oct 1855 in her 22nd year. Stella and Claude are buried at O-HUD Cemetery and Julius and Lucy are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. HATTIE BELLE (CLARK) BAKER, BORN 1876, on 26 Feb 1895, married Oscar L. Baker. The obit states Hattie was living in York at the time of her father's death. MAUDE (CLARK) HOSMER, Sep 1879 - 1948, on 24 Apr 1899, married Charles F. Hosmer, 1872 - 1937. They are buried at O-HUD Cemetery. IMOGENE/IMA CLARK, born May 1883, was living in Hudson, IN. when her father died. No other information. TWO SONS DIED before their father died. On 04 Jan 1849 in Dekalb County, IN, he married Delilah (Platz) Clark, born in 1829 in Ohio; died in 1909. After the death of her 1st husband, on 18 Jan 1872 in Steuben County, IN, she married George Free. LEWIS CLARK, born about 1833 IN Ohio, married Lydia (Crale) Clark. No other information. CALEB CLARK, born in Parks, Stark County, OH, on 04 Dec 1838; died 20 Apr 1903 in Montpelier, OH. On 22 Nov 1863, possibly 19 Nov 1863, he was united in marriage with Matilda Kogin/Cogin, 23 Jun 1843 - 02 Jun 1903. Her husband died 6 weeks prior to her death. Matilda was the daughter of Daniel Cogin who was born about 1804 in Stark, OH, and Anna (______) Cogin who was born 05(?) Nov 1807 and died 05 Jun 1874. Anna is buried at County Line Cemetery, Steuben County, IN. MARIA (CLARK) CHARLTON, 27 Apr 1841 - 20 Apr 1897, on 24 Nov 1861, married Edward Charlton, 06 Apr 1834 - 17 Mar 1878.
