STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 1904, page 3, column 6 WILLIAM HENRY CLARK, 28 Oct 1818 - 16 Aug 1904 William Henry Clark, was born in Rochester, New York, October 28, 1818, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Reuben Sellers, near Fremont, Ind., Aug 16, 1904, aged 85 years, 9 months and 19 days. His mother having died when he was but a babe he was left in life to shift for himself. In December 1847 he was married to Elizabeth Rhinehart, of Woodville, Ohio, and to this union was born four daughters all of whom are living and did all that loving hands could do to comfort him in his declining years. He with his family came to Steuben county in 1851 where they have since resided. The meeting of the "Old Settlers" was always a day of enjoyment and a source of much pleasure to him. Many years ago he identified himself with the German Baptist church. He leaves to mourn for him an aged companion, four daughters, Mrs. Mary Button, Mrs. Jane Sellers, Mrs. Emma Hamilton and Mrs. Hattie Cleckner, also 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. During his last days he was a great sufferer but bore it all patiently only wishing from day to day that he could pass to his long home. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Reichelderfer, of Fremont at the South Scott church, Aug. 19, and he was borne to his last resting place by six of his grandsons. Burial in South Scott cememtery. Button, 05 May 1830 - 01 May 1895. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Hamilton-Button lot, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Sarah Jane (Clark) Sellers, 21 Jan 1851 - 31 Aug 1937, on 06 Oct 1872, married Reuben Sellers, 10 Feb 1844 - 10 Sep 1920. They are buried at South Scott Cemetery. Emma J. (Clark) Hamilton, 07 Mar 1853 - 11 Dec 1918, on 26 Jan 1872, in Henry, Ohio, married William T. Hamilton, 1852 - 1890. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Hamilton-Button lot. Hattie A. (Clark) Cleckner, 13 Sep 1862 - 03 Jul 1958, married John Cleckner, 23 Dec 1858 - 09 Jan 1933, son of John and Caroline (Kunkler) Cleckner Healey. Hattie and John are buried at South Scott Cemetery.
