KAY LASH COLLECTION OF OBITUARIES, CARNEGIE PUBLIC LIBRARY, ANGOLA, STEUBEN COUNTY, IN. GEORGE W. CLINE, 18 AUG 1859 - 19 MAR 1915 George W. Cline Was born in pleasant township, Steuben county, Indiana, Aug. 18, 1859, and died at his home on the banks of Fox lake, March 19, 1915, aged 56 years, 7 months and 1 day. Mr. Cline was necessarily a son of his father, possessing all the hardy, stoic virtues incident to pioneer life, his father having been one of the early settlers who helped to blaze the way to Steuben county's civilization. He was quiet and unassuming in life's daily walks, modest in his demeanor, always on good terms with himself, nature, and his neighbors. He was a graduate from the university of "Hard Knocks," having spent most of his mature years as foreman of a construction crew on both main lines and all of the branches of the Lake Shore railway. He was a true sportsman with rod and reel and loved the chase. His home was on the banks of beautiful Fox lake and his familiar face will be missed by those who make their usual visits there during the summer months. He leaves four brothers, a faithful, devoted wife and five small children whom he precedes to that beautiful "Isle of Somewhere." He was a member of Angola lodge No. 206, Knights of Pythias, and his remains were laid to rest in the Old cemetery beside those of his father and mother by that lodge with Knightly honors, on Tuesday, March 23, 1915.
