JANE PETTIGAL SOWLE COLE, 16 Dec 1822 - 14 Nov 1899

   DIED in Angola, Ind., Nov. 14, 1899, Mrs. Jane Sowle Cole, 
aged 76 years, 10 months and 28 days.

   Jane Pettingal was born in Pennsylvania, Dec. 16, 1822, and 
came to Steuben county in 1854.  August 5, 1860, she was 
united in marriage to Abel Sowle. Three children were born to 
this union, and only one survives, Mrs. Frank Ramsay, of 
Angola.  She was again married July 24, 1895, to John P. Cole, 
who survives her.  For many years beginning in 1860, she 
conducted a milliner store in Angola with a branch store at 
Fremont.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow in the M.E. 
church, at two o'clock, Rev. F. M. Kemper, officiating.
