DICK COURTRIGHT, 10 Aug 1906 - 07 Mar 1984 Dick Courtright, 77, of Rte 1, CR400S, Hudson, died suddenly at LaGrange Hospital early Wednesday morning. The son of Ross and Blanche Weaver Courtwright, he was born in Noble County. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Waite of Rte. 1, Hudson; one son, Richard Lee Courtright of Hudson; one daughter, Donna Lou Allen of Pleasant Lake; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister Geraldine Lepley of Hudson. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday in Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with the Rev. Jack Newell of Salem Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Flint Cemetery. Dick was the son of Ross Courtright, 1878 - 1961, and Blanche (Weaver) Courtright, 1881 - 1962. They are buried at Hollister Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Edyth was the daughter of Perry J. Waite, 11 May 1883 - 16 Mar 1980, and his 1st wife, Edna Pearl (Miller) Waite, 03 Nov 1886 - 09 May 1927. Perry's 2nd wife was Myrtle (McKellips) Barnhouse Proehl Waite, no dates. They are buried at Flint Cemetery. Handwritten note by Audree Seibel Lewis on a file card for Edyth E. (Waite) Courtright, "I talked to Edyth, June 20, 1986, and she said her husband's name is just Dick, no initial. When he was born his mother asked the hired men what she should name him and they said, "Oh, Tom, Dick or Harry." She picked Dick.
