STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 1902,page 5, column 5 DELILA (STEALY) CRAIN, 16 Sep 1834 - 09 Jul 1902 Delila Stealy Crain was born in Marion Co., Ohio, September 16, 1834, died in Milan, Oklahoma, July 9th, 1902, aged 67 years, 9 months and 23 days. Mrs. Crain was a sister of our townsman, Jacob Stealy. Obituary next week. STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 1902, page 8, column 7 Delila Stealy was born in Marion county, Ohio, Sept. 16, 1834, and came to Steuben county, Feb. 17, 1836. In Dec. 1850 she was married to Orange Crain and continued to Live in Angola until October 1878, when they moved to Kansas, living in Tanner county until Jan. 1, 1898, when they went to make their home in Milan, Wood county, Oklahoma, and when Mr. Crain died in 1900, Mrs. Crain remained there until her death which occurred July 9, 1902. Five children survive her, three sons and two daughters. Mrs. Crain was an estimable woman, a faithful wife and loving mother, and beloved by all. She was one of the eleven children of Rev. John Stealy, four of whom are still living in Angola, Lewis and Jacob Stealy, Mrs. Levi Bigler and Mrs. Lydia Adams. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Delila (Stealy) Crain, 16 Sep 1834 - 09 Jul 1902, married Orange Crain, 03 Apr 1827 - 21 Jun 1900. (12 Dec 1852 on marriage license with her name as Delilah). No information on burial place. No information on children's names. Delila's parents were Rev. John Stealy, 07 Apr 1793/94 - 17 Aug 1848/49, and Susanna H. (Seitze) Stealy, 16 Jul 1801 - 14 Mar 1875. They are buried at Old Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. A partial list of Delila's siblings: Catherine (Stealy) Bigler, 05 Aug 1830 - 25 Jul 1909, married Levi Bigler, 18 Mar 1829 - 16 Dec 1930, both buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Levi was the son of Emanuel and Anna (Ewing) Bigler. Lydia (Stealy) Adams, married Chester Adams. Not listed in Cemetery book. Christian Stealy, 13 Dec 1818 - 21 May 1883, married Catherine Wrigther. Christian is buried at the Old Angola Cemetery. Burial place for Christian is unknown. John Stealy, 05 Nov 1839 - 21 Feb 1862, a fifer in Co. A., 44th Ind. Vol. Inf., enlisted Aug 1861, died of typhoid. Lewis Stealy, 02 Nov 1826 - 21 Jul 1907. Buried at Old Angola Cemetery.
