STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 1903, page 1, column 6 SARAH (BOWER) CRITCHFIELD, 16 Oct 1824 - 02 Jul 1903 Mrs. Sarah Critchfield died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Matilda Letts, of Jamestown, July 2, 1903, aged 78 years, 8 months and 16 days. She was born in Larkins Valley, Pa., Oct. 16, 1824. She came to this state in 1835 and was married to James Critchfield August 3, 1840. To them were born eleven children, three of whom, with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive her. Her husband died Feb. 21, 1891. Critchfield, 12 Dec 1818/19 - 21 Feb 1891/92, aged 73 years, 2 months and 9 days. James is buried at Dygert Cemetry, Steuben County, Indiana. No mention of burial place for Sarah. Children: Nancy Jane Critchfield, 03 Oct 1843 - 19 Aug 1846, buried at Bower Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Frederick Critchfield, 04 Dec 1848 - 19 Sept 1849, Bower Cemetery.
