STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1904, page 1, columns 5, 6 NANCY (FREED) CROWL, 04 Aug 1832 - 18 Feb 1904 Nancy Freed was born in Stark county, Ohio, August 4, 1832, and departed this life February 18, 1904, aged 71 years, 6 months and 14 days. She was married to William Crowl, Aug. 21, 1860. To this union were born six children, three boys and three girls. She leaves a husband, 1 son and 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and two sisters, from a family of ten, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. From early girlhood she was a member of the Lutheran church, until, with their family they moved to Steuben County in 1866, she joined the United Brethren church at this place and remained a faithful member until that beautiful light went out, and she went to claim her reward. She was a great sufferer for four years but she cheerfully bore it all with the greatest, hopeful patience and toward her last days frequently expressed a wish for the time to come when she could "Go Home."
