Steuben-Republican November 1914 Henry Dahuff was born near Pleasant Lake, Steuben County, Indiana September 30, 1855 and died near the place of his birth November 4, 1914 age 59 years 1 month and 4 days. Deceased was the son of Peter and Sarah Dahuff who were among the pioneers of Steuben Township, and have long since fallen asleep. He had one sister and four brothers namely, Mary Ann, Hosea, John, Edward and Charles, of whom only Hosea and Charles remain. He was married to Sophia Snare May 4, 1877 and to them were born two children, Effie and Carl, Effie having passed to her reward and Carl now in the West and not heard from for many years. His wife, Sophia died in 1886. October 6, 1887 he was married again to Miss Ella G. Whiting and to this union were born nine children; Maud Northouse of Fort Wayne, Shirley of Grand Rapids, Michigan Lester (deceased), Blanche Ruby Teegardin (deceased), Roscoe, Lauren, Paul, and Robert. There have been born five grandchildren, 3 living and twin babys of Claude and Ruby Teegardin, who died in infantcy. The deceased always resided near Pleasant Lake and was among the sturdy, sober, industrious citizen of Steuben County, always having in his mind and heart the comfort and happiness of his loved ones, kin and friends. He leaves to mourn their loss, his beloved and faithful wife, 7 children, 3 grandchildren and two brothers and their families and a large circle of relatives and friends among whom he will be greatly missed.
