STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 1896, pg. 1, col. 8 DAVID G. DAVIS DIED At his residence in Jackson Township, on Saturday, March 21, 1896, David G. Davis, aged 65 years, 9 months and 14 days. The deceased, a son of Abner and Polly Davis, was born in Chenango, New York, June 7, 1830. In 1836, he removed with his parents from his native county to Steuben County, Ind. His father settled on a farm in Jackson Township in 1836, and the deceased continuously up to the time of his death resided on the same farm. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn their loss. By his death the community has lost an honest man, a kind neighbor, and an exemplary citizen, and his wife and children have lost a kind father and an indulgent husband. Funeral services were held at the family residence Monday at 2 o'clock p.m., and burial at Jackson Prairie, Rev. Bonney, minister, officiating. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: David G. Davis, 07 Jun 1830-21 Mar 1896, was the son of Abner and Polly Bardsley/Beardsley Davis. He married Frances C. (Morse) Davis, 12 Apr 1841-28 Aug 1912, daughter of John H. and Susan A. Morse. Children: Horace M. Davis, 1868-26 Dec 1944, married Jennie Adel (Schutts) Davis, 29 Sep 1870-14 Sep 1938. Lola A. (Davis) Brown, 22 May 1870-21 Jun 1904, married Chester H. Brown, 1869-1947. Susa P.
