JOHN G. W. DAVIS, died 21 Sep 1903 

   John G. W. Davis, who recently left Steuben county for Hays 
City, Kansas, died Sept. 21, 1903, at the home of his son-in-law, 
Rev. J. M. Rush, in that city.  In 1854 he was united in marriage 
with Miss Rhoda Hunt, and soon after came to Steuben county, living 
in Otsego and Richland townships for a number of years, finally 
moved to Grand Rapids, Mich., where he remained until the death of 
his wife, which occurred about three years ago.  His last illness 
was of a malignant type and of long duration, but he had abiding 
faith in Christ and bore his suffering with patience.  He leaves 
five children and many friends to mourn.
