STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 1894 CHARLES TRUMAN DEWEY, 1830 - 19 Jul 1894 DIED AT Hillsdale, Mich., July 19, 1894, Charles T. Dewey, aged 74 years, 5 months and 28 days. Deceased was born in Niagara Co., New York, and settled in Steuben county in 1849. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey moved to Hillsdale about four years ago to educate their children. He was a member of the Congregational church at Fremont, of Fremont Lodge No. 210, F. & A.M., and Council No. 27, R. & S.M. Mr. Dewey had been in poor health for many years. Funeral services were held at the home of his son, Frank, in Jamestown township, and were largely attended. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Charles Truman Dewey, 1830 - 19 Jul 1894, married first in 1852, Amanda Burdick, 1828 - 1861. They are buried at Jamestown Cemetery. Steuben County, Indiana. Charles was the son of Truman C. Dewey, who died 12 Oct 1875, aged 82 years, 3 months and 2 days, and Welthey (Foreman) Dewey, who died 15 Oct 1858, aged 61 years. Son of 1st marriage, Frank Charles Dewey, 15 Feb 1859 - 13 Feb 1941, married 1st, Ida L. Knauss, 16 Feb 1863 - 24 Dec 1914, daughter of Henry D. and Permella Knauss. They are buried at Jamestown Cemetery. Married 2nd Mary Gem _____ Snyder, 1869 - 1929, She was married first to J. Barton Snyder. She is buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. He married 3rd, Luella _______, died 06 Aug 1963. Buried at Circle Hill cemetery. Charles married 2nd on 23 Dec 1862, Almira D. (Shutts) Dewey, 24 Dedc 1841 - 11 Aug 1901, daughter of Charles S. And Susanna (Richey) Shutts. Almira is buried at Jamestown Cemetery. Their four children are Dr. Fred N.
