ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Willard DeWitt, 26 Mar 1776 - 28 Jan 1881, and his 2nd wife, Sarah B. (Grubb) Mudd DeWitt, 1831 - 1907, are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Willard DeWitt was born 26 Mar 1776, in Herkimer County, N. Y., and died at his residence in Scott Township, Steuben County, Jan. 28, 1881. He was the father of 18 children, twelve by his first wife and six by his second wife. He was first married in New York when about twenty years old. This wife died in August, 1860, aged eighty-two years. In April of 1861, he married Mrs. Sarah (Grubb) Mudd. She survives with four daughters from this marriage per the 1880 United States Census, Scott, Steuben County, Indiana, Family History Library Film #1254312, NA Film Number T0-0312, page #373C: Linda DeWitt, age 16, Eva DeWitt, age 13, Nettie DeWitt, age 12, Olive DeWitt, age 9. At the time of his death there were living from his first marriage, a son, Daniel DeWitt, age 59 of DeKalb County, Indiana, and a daughter in Michigan.
