STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 1902, page 4, column 4 MELVINA A. (RUSSELL) DODGE, 24 Feb 1818- 04 Jan 1902 Mrs. M A. Dodge, one of the pioneers of Steuben county, passed peacefully away, Jan 4, 1902, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. A. Jameson, at Tonganoxie, Kansas, after suffering for two years with paralysis. Funeral services were held at the house Jan. 6, conducted by Rev. Ballard. Burial in Maple Grove cemetery. Melvina A. Russell was born February 24, 1818, at Marietta, Onondaga county, New York. She was united in marriage Oct. 31, 1839, to Oliver P. Dodge, and after a short residence in Michigan, they removed to Fremont, Indiana, where for over forty years her life was spent on the old homestead. The last three years she has spent in Kansas, where she has three daughters, Mrs. J. A. Barber, Mrs. S. A. Jameson and Mary Dodge, now living. The eldest daughter, Mrs. A. M.
