STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, March 27, 1895, pg.5, col.5 Daniel Dreher was born in Schuylkill county, Penn., Nov. 19, 1804, and died in Salem township, Steuben county, Ind., Feb. 27, 1895, aged 90 years, 8 months and 15 days. Deceased was married Nov. 3, 1828, to Elizabeth Roeder, who died in 1863. He resided in his native state until the year 1836, when he removed to Medina county, Ohio, where he resided five years when he removed to Wayne county, the same state, living there thirteen years, then removing to Huron county, the same state; after a residence there of eleven years he removed to Salem township, Steuben county, Ind., in the spring of 1865, where he resided until his death. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Anna Davis in August, 1866, who, with four sons and four daughters, survives to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father, who retained the undying love of his aged companion and also the love and respect of his children, and the good will and kindly sympathy of all his friends and neighbors. Mr, Dreher lived a long and useful life, ever striving to make the world brighter and better; and when after his long journey through life he came to the river which divides time from eternity, he expressed himself as fully satisfied with his God and with himself, and died with the hope of entering a nobler and grander existence.
