STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 1903, page 1, column 5 LORENZO DUNHAM, 29 May 1833 - 19 Mar 1903 Lorenzo Dunham was born in Bedford township, Cuyahoga county, Ohio, May 29, 1903, aged 69 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was the youngest of twelve children born to John and Elizabeth Dunham, of whom five are left, Alonzo Dunham, of Angola, Ind., John and Asa Dunham, Laura Hubbell and Elizabeth Wheeler, of Bedford, Ohio. He was married to Sarah Ann Riddles, on March 14, 1860. On Feb. 14, 1864, they moved to York township. Of the five children born to them, four with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind father and true husband. His hatred of shams, of whatever nature, was almost a passion, and he could never make a pretense of seeming to be that which he knew in his heart he was not. In the community where he has lived so long, he was loved and respected. His upright and blameless life, his patience and cheerfulness through the years of suffering, his kindness as a neighbor and constancy as a friend, won the hearts of all. No murmurings, no distrust, but with perfect confidence and peace he passed over the river to that land where there is no hunger, no pain nor sorrow. Funeral services at Powers' church, Saturday, March 21st, Elder C. S. Medbury, officiating. THE WILL OF LORENZO DUNHAM, page 4, column 2 The will of Lorenzo Dunham, whose death occurred in York a few days ago, has been probated. He gave to his wife Sarah the use of all his real and personal property to have and hold during her natural life. To his son James he gave the east eighty acres, and to his daughter Olive together with $800 in cash the west sixty acres of the farm on which he died. To his daughter Rose he gave the north eighty acres of the old farm northwest of Metz, and the south eighty of the same farm he gave in fee simple to his grandchildren, Ethel, Edna, Reuben and Harvey Dunham, suject to the life estate of his son Theodore. All the above bequests are made subject to the life estate of his wife, Sarah. At the death of his widow, all the remainder of his property is to be divided equally among his children. James Dunham is named as executor. This is certainly a just will.
