GEORGE A. DYGERT George Adam Dygert, son of Benjamin and Phebe Ann Dygert, was born August 23, 1857, in York township, Steuben county, Ind. His life, excepting the last sixteen years, was spent on the farm on which he was born. On December 22, 1891, he was united in marriage with Emily Gilbert. Three children came to this union --- Ellen, Florence and Newton G.. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mandy Ryan, and Miss Lana Dygert, of Indianapolis. A sister, Mrs. Louise Clark, and a brother, Garrett, have preceded him in death. Newton's untimely death was a loss from which he never recovered. The end came June 1st, after many years of patient suffering. He lived a life in which self was forgotten, and was always cheerful and uncomplaining through a dozen years of physical infirmities. He was a member of Lodge No. 236 F. & A. M., Chapter No. 58 R. A. M., Council No. 27 Royal and Select Masons, Chapter 78 Order of Eastern Star and the Knights of Pythias, all of Angola, Ind.. He was always ready and willing to fill any place in the work of the lodge, even after his health had failed. The lodge held a large place in his heart. He was widely known and everywhere respected for his uprightness and honesty. His unassuming and kindly manner won for him many friends. His thoughts were always for the happiness and comfort of others. Few have lived so worthy a life, and God has taken him to his eternal reward. Funeral services were held in the Angola Congregational church on Friday afternoon, June 4, under the auspices of Angola Lodge No. 236, F. & A. M.; burial in Circle Hill cemetery (Angola).
