We are pained to announce the death of our esteemed citizen Martin Eldridge
which took place in the state of New York on the afternoon of Monday last,
where he was called to the bedside of a dying relative but a few days before.
The first intimation that our citizens had of their loss was the arrival of
his remains by the morning train on Wednesday. Mr. Eldridge was well
and widely known throughout the county and it will be with sorrow that readers
will learn his sudden demise.
