CYRENA (GRIPPEN) ELLIS, 24 Aug 1805 - 13 Mar 1902

   Cyrena Grippen was born in Onondaga county, New York, August 24, 
1805, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ransom Gates, in 
Otsego township, March 13, 1902, aged 96 years, 6 months and 11 
days.  In 1823, she was united in marriage with Arad Ellis.  To 
this union were born five children, two of whom are living, 
Abagail, wife of Ransom Gates and Mary, wife of George Pattee.  The 
husband died October 15, 1866.  Mrs. Ellis united with the M. E. 
church in early life and was a faithful member until death.  
Funeral services were held March 14, 1902, at the brick church, 
Rev. N. P. Barton, M. E. minister of Hamilton, officiating.  Burial 
in North Otsego cemetery.

   Cyrena (Grippen) Ellis, 24 Aug 1805 - 13 Mar 1902, married Arad Ellis, 
30 Aug 1800 - 15 Oct 1866, buried at North Otsego Cemetery, Steuben 
County, Indiana.  Arad was the son of Moses and Delicity Ellis.

   George Ellis, born in 1825 in Onondaga County, New York.
   Hamilton Ellis, born in 1826 in Onondaga County, New York, on 03 Aug 
1846 in Indiana, married Gratia Brugh.  No other information.
   Lucy Ann (Ellis) Glingan, on 22 Aug 1852, became the 2nd wife of John 
Glingan.  John's 1st wife, Sarah Glingan, died 02 May 1852 when her 
daughter Sarah was born.  Baby Sarah died 22 May 1852.  
   Abagail [Abigail on marriage license] A. (Ellis) Gates, 1833 - 1913, on 
10 Apr 1853, married Ransom A. Gates, 27 Mar 1832 - 11 Jun 1910, son of 
Levi and Sallie Gates.  
    Mary M. (Ellis) Pattee, 1845 - 1919, on 11 Sep 1864, married George K. 
Pattee, 1840 - 1915, buried at Butler Cemetery, Butler, DeKalb County, 
Indiana.  George Pattee is the brother of Sarah Caroline (Pattee) Hunt.

Row 5, stone 13: Sarah (_______) Clingan,died 02 May 1852 "in her 38th 
year", 1st wife of John Clingan.
Row 5, stone 14: Sarah Clingan, died 22 May 1852, age 22 days if date of 
death is correct, daughter of John and 1st wife Sarah Clingan.
Row 5, stone 15: Gertrude F. Clingan, died 20 Jul 1854, aged 10 months and 
10 days, daughter of John and 2nd wife, Lucy Ann (Ellis) Clingan.
Row 5, stone 16: Lesslie J. Clingan, 09 Feb 1865 - 24 Feb 1865, aged 15 
days, son of John and 2nd wife Lucy Ann (Ellis) Clingan.
John Clingan is not listed in Cemetery book.  He is either in an unmarked 
grave or perhaps he moved out of the area.
