STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WENDESDAY, Oct. 13, 1897, page 4, column 4 DIED at his home near Metz, Indiana, October 3, 1897, Ira C. Emerson, aged 65 years, 4 months and 15 days. Deceased was born at Lawrenceville, Tioga county, Pennsylvania, May 18, 1832, and moved with his parents to Alliance, Stark county, Ohio, in the year 1852, where in 1853, he was united in marriage to Almira Teeters. To this union were born three children, Florence, Harry and Charles. He moved to Steuben county in 1873 where he resided until his death. He leaves two brothers, one sister, his wife and children to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held in the union Church, east of Angola, on Thursday, October 5, 1897, conducted by Rev. G. W. Long, of Spring Lake, Ohio, in the presence of a large number of sympathizing friends and neighbors. The Metz choir rendered choice selections of music.
