James Ewing Steuben Republican 17 May 1862, P.3 clm1 On Tuesday last, at the residence of his father in Scott Township, James Ewing, member of Company A, 44th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, aged about 19 years. The subject of the above notice was brought home from Tennessee about 4 weeks ago, and the comforts of home seemed to have a good affect on his shattered constitution, he seemed to grow better, and there were strong hopes for his recovery, until about two weeks ago, when he grew worse, and on last Tuesday his spirit left him for a brighter and better world. He hears no more the clashing of arms, and the long roll will no more awake him. He has gone to that home from whence no traveler returns. Submitted By: Jean Ann Childers
