STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 1899, page1, column 6 ANNA ARNOLD FEGLEY, 08 Sep 1814 -08 Dec 1899 Anna Arnold Fegley was born in Wayne county, Ohio, September 8, 1814, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lacey, Dec. 8, 1899, aged 85 years and 3 months. Anna Arnold and Simon Fegley were married in March, 1837, in Wayne county, Ohio, and moved to Steuben county, Indiana, in 1841. Mrs. Fegley thus ranks among the old settlers in this part of the state. Since coming to the county in 1841, she has never lived outside its boundaries. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom survive her. Mrs. Sarah Lacey, Mrs. Nancy Mortorff and Luke Fegley, of Pleasant Lake, Mrs. Elizabeth Scoville, of Kansas and Philip Fegley of Missouri. January 21, 1882, she was, by the death of her husband, Simon Fegley, left a widow. In her declining years she has made her home with her children, especially with her oldest daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lacey. Mother Fegley was converted in 1872 at the Barker M. E. church south of Pleasant Lake under the ministrations of Rev. Bender, of the U. B. church at Pleasant Lak4e. She has lived a quiet and useful life in her home and with her family. Though not professing faith in Christ until late, she has since lived a consistent christian life.
