STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1901, page 1, column 7 CAROLINE (KILLINGER) GALE, 1850 - 11 Nov 1902 Mrs. Gale Passes Away Mrs. Carrie Gale, who has been ill of consumption for a long time at her home in Fairview, died yesterday morning, Nov. 11, at 2 o'clock. Funeral at the home today at 2:30 p.m. Burial in Circle Hill cemetery. Mrs. Gale was 52 years old and was born in Angola. She had been a long and patient sufferer from that dread disease, consumption. We will give a more extended notice next week. (No other notice was found in later newspapers.) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Caroline (Killinger) Gale, 1850 - 11 Nov 1902, daughter of Godtllieb Killinger, 25 Mar 1818 - 05 Sep 1876, and Catharine (Newbauer) Killinger, 08 Sep 1820 - 05 Aug 1875 (City of the Dead states she died 05 Aug 1873, aged 56 years). Caroline married Jay J. Gale, 1847 - ?, son of Daniel M. Gale, 06 Jul 1823 - 11 Sep 1887, and Rachel (Russell) Gale, 03 Oct 1824/5 - 06 Jun 1902. Caroline and her parents are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Jay's burial place unknown. SIBLINGS: William Killinger, 20 Mar 1842 - 29 Jul 1869. City of the Dead states he died 29 Jul 1876, aged 27 years. Buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Angeline (Killinger) Hendry, died 23 Nov 1890, aged 42 years, 8 months and 27 days, married Thomas P. Hendry, 30 Mar 1846 - 14 Apr 1927. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
