October 1921 BENONI PHILETUS GLEASON ( 2 April 1852- 17 Oct 1921 ) Benoni Philetus Gleason was born in Jackson Township, Steuben County, Indiana, April 2, 1852, and died in Chehalis, Washington, October 17, 1921, at the age of sixty-nine years, six months and fifteen days. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and seven children; three sons and four daughters, and nineteen grandchildren. He was married to Martha Alice Slick, Dec. 9, 1877, at Angola, Indiana, by Elder W.P. Aylsworth, and settled in Lewis County, Washington, in the spring of 1889. Mr. Gleason was the father of ten children five boys and five girls, and was the son of Porter and Amy Gleason, pioneers of Steuben County, Indiana. He was one of nine children, six of whom with the father and mother had proceeded him to the heavenly home, leaving one brother and one sister. He confessed his Savior when a boy of fourteen and in all his life he never lost his faith in his Savior. When he died he was a member of the First Christian Church of Chehalis, Washington. His funeral services were held in !.0.0. F. Hall at Toledo, Washington, and he was laid to rest in Knab Cemetery.
