Joseph Gochenaur, 17 Oct 1829 -19 Mar 1898 DIED at his home in Scott township, Mar. 19, 1898, Joseph Gochenaur, aged 68 years, 5 months and 2 days. Joseph Gochenaur was born in Lancaster county, Penn., Oct 17th, 1829, and was married to Sarah Ann Smith, Oct. 31st, 1852. To this union was born one child, Maria Showalter. He was afterwards married to Mrs. Catherine Kemmerling, Oct. 19th, 1860. To this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. Mr. Gochenaur was a pioneer of Steuben county, a highly respected citizen much beloved by his family and a large circle of friends, a kind and just neighbor. In his death his family and friends have sustained an irreparable loss. The funeral took place from the residence, Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Elder C. S. Medbury. Burial at Mt.
