DEATHS . . .
At the home of her son William, in Scott township, Mrs. Elizabeth Harman, aged 74 years and 23 days.
Elizabeth Vandamark [sic] was born in Franklin county, Ohio, October 11, 1817, and died November 4, 1891. She was married to Samuel Harman, October 15, 1837. To them were born three sons and five daughters, two daughters and her husband preceding her to the spirit land. Mrs. Harman united with the Bible Christian church in 1850, came to Steuben county in 1865 and united with the Christian church in 1888. She was greatly respected by all who knew her and her children remember her as a kind and loving mother. Funeral services held in Union church, Friday, November 6, Rev. C. A. Gleason, officiating.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Based on census records from Putnam County, Elizabeth's maiden name was almost certainly "Vandemark", although the ancestral name was probably Van Der Mark. The "Cemeteries of Steuben County", on the other hand, uses Vandermark.
