STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1904, page 1, column 6 PHEBE J. (BRATTON) HAVERSTOCK, 24 Sep 1859 - 12 May 1904 Phebe J. Bratton was born in Williams county, Ohio, Sept. 24, 1859 - and was joined in marriage with Frank L. Haverstock, of Montpelier, Ohio, on Feb. 7, 1883. To the union were born three children, two dying in infancy. One daughter, Urna, with the husband survive her death, which occurred in Angola, Ind., May 12, 1904, aged 44 years, 7 months and 18 days. Short services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. M. M. Garwood, conducted by Rev. Wooten, after which the remains were taken to Winfield, Kansas, where she had made her home since her marriage. In her girlhood she attended school in Angola and taught in the county, where she will be lovingly remembered by many of our people. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Phebe J. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. Siblings: Emmet A. Bratton, 16 Jul 1855 - 18 Sep 1923, on 21 Feb 1883, married 1st, Delaphine (Rice) Bratton, 29 Jan 1862 - 27 Jan 1914. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Emmet married 2nd, Jennie (Brown) Golden Bratton, 26 Mar 1864 - 19 Jun 1934. Jennie is buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Morris and Catherine (Klink) Brown. Clara T. (Bratton) Garwood, 1857 - 1931, married Madison M. Garwood, 1853 - 1932. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Elvada Bratton, born about 1863, no other information. Dellah Bratton, born about 1867, no other information. Alma [Alina on marriage license] (Bratton) Powers, 01 Jul 1869 - 27 Jan 1935, on 13 Oct 1892, married Frank Leo Powers, 11 Dec 1867 - 13 Mar 1945. Alma is buried at St. Paul, Minn. Frank Leo Power's grandparents were Winn Powers, 08 Dec 1801 - 24 Jun 1883, and Betsey (Reeves) Powers, 11 May 1801 - 14 Apr 1875, part of the Powers Caravan who were pioneer settlers of York Township, Steuben County, Indiana.
