Steuben-Republican 16 March 1904 Whelan Headley was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, June 30, 1832 and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George Williamson, in Angola, Indiana March 13,1904, aged 72 years, 8 months and 12 days. His early life was spent in Mahoning and Williams Counties, Ohio, and then his father's family moved to York township in Ssteuben County, Indiana. He was married in 1855 to Mary J. Norrick. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. Two sons and the daughter did in infancy. After many years of illness, his wife was called from life in January, 1894. One son Samuel W. Headley, two brothers and four sisters survive him. His last illness, of two weeks was one of great pain; that was borne with prayerful patience. He was a member of the Methodist Church and his funeral services were conducted from the church by his pastor, Rev. A.G. Neal. Submitted by J.A. Childers
