FROM AUDREE SEIBEL LEWIS' CARD FILE, CARNEGIE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF STEUBEN COUNTY, INDIANA. PUBLISHED IN THE STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18, 1880, page 8, column 4 CYNTHIA (FOX) HEATH, 14 Nov 1801 - 05 Aug 1880 HEATH.---At Conesville, Muscatine county, Iowa, Aug. 5, 1880, Cynthia Heath; aged 78 years, 8 months and 21 days. Deceased was born in Hadley, Hampshire county, Mass., Nov. 14, 1801. She removed with her parents to Salem, Washington county, New York, in 1821. In 1822 she was married to Samuel Heath. In 1826 she removed with her family to Ira, Cayuga county N. Y., where she resided till the fall of 1847, when she removed to Lake Gage, this county, where she encountered such privation incident to a pioneer life, as none but the early settlers can fully realize. She was a firm believer in the religion of Jesus Christ, and ever by precept and example strove to instill its holy principles into the hearts of her beloved children. She united with the Presbyterian church at old Hadley at the age of twelve years. In 1847 she united with the Congregational church at Orland by letter, of which church she remained a member till her death. She was the mother of S. E. and J. L. Heath, of Lake Gage, a sister of J. Austin Fox, of Jamesown, and an aunt of Joel Fox, of Orland, and Miss Mary Carleton, of Angola. Farewell, mother! Rest from thy toil. Though our hearts are filled with sadness, thou canst enjoy that peace, that heavenly bliss, prepared by the faithful among that angelic throng whose melodious lays fill Heaven's unbounded space with music sweet.
