LOUISA (CUTLER) HORTON, 07 Nov 1827 - 29 Mar 1902

   Mrs. Louisa Horton was born Nov. 7, 1827, and died at her home 
in Orland, March 29, 1902, aged 74 years, 4 months and 21 days.  
Mrs. Horton was the last of her household except her grandson 
Harry.  She was married to Velorus Horton, Jan. 1, 1850.  Three 
daughters blessed this union.  The youngest daughter, Clara, died 
Nov. 26, 1879; the second daughter, Mrs. Edna Immel, died Feb. 22, 
1881, in Geneva, Neb.; the oldest daughter, Mrs. Ora Immel, died in 
Geneva, Neb., Aug. 30, 1884.  Both daughters were brought back to 
Orland for burial.  The husband and father died Nov. 20, 1891.  The 
funeral of Mrs. Horton took place Sunday afternoon from the home.  
Rev. Kemp, Methodist pastor of the Lima, Ind., church, officiating; 
burial in the first cemetery.  Now side by side the mortal bodies 
of father, mother, and three daughters lie resting.  All the 
members that once made up a busy, active household, are of earth no 
more.  Surely "Death with its sickle keen, reaps the bearded grain 
and the flowers that grow between."  Mrs. Horton had been a member 
of the M. E. church for more than fifty years, and when possible 
was always at her post of duty.  For six years her failing health 
deprived her of this privilege.

All buried at Memorial Grove Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

Louisa was the daughter of John Horton Cutler, 17 Mar 1804 - 30 Aug 1887, 
and his 1st wife, Lucy (Reed) Cutler, 1805 - 28 Aug 1840.  John is buried 
at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Steuben County, Indiana.  Lucy is buried at 
Carleton Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  John's 2nd wife was Lucy M. 
(Dudley) Conger Cutler, 1809 - 1863, buried at Greenlawn Cemetery.  John's 
3rd wife was Phoebe (Randall) Drake Cutler Schneider, 1824 - 04 Aug 1920, 
buried at Greenlawn Cemetery.  John was her 2nd husband.  Her 3rd husband 
was Christian F. Schneider, 17 Nov 1818 - 30 Nov 1908. 

Brother:  William K. Cutler, 01 Jan 1835 - 12 Nov 1858, buried at 
Greenlawn.
