From the Steuben Republican

Charles Alfred Ingalls, son of Sylvia and W.R.Ingalls was born March 22,1854 at Otsego Center, Indiana., and died at his home in Angola on October 16,1926 aged  72 years,6 months and 21 days.  On  January 27, 1878 he was united in marriage with Alice Coleman and to this union four
children were born.  Dr C.E. Ingalls,Indianapolis. Mrs. W.V. Hoagland Pleasant Lake, Indiana.  E.R. Ingalls of Ft. Wayne Ind. and Mrs. John Rising Chicago, Ill. The earlier part of his life was spent in Otsego township where he grew to manhood.  After his marriage he resided there for a short time; later moving to York  township where he lived about two years. He afterwards moved to Pleasant Lake Ind. where resided  until fifteen years ago when he came to Angola.  Because of his  business as a salesman he was known to nearly every family in Steuben county. For the past ten years he has been rural solicitor in LaGrange an Steuben counties for the Fort Wayne  News-Sentinel.  He was a member of the United Brethern church at Pleasant Lake later transferring  his membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in  Angola. He served two terms as Master of the Pleasant Lake  Masonic Lodge, where at one time he was a very active member.                          He leaves besides his wife and four children mentioned above. Mrs. A.W Long, LosAngeles.  Mrs. Lana  Clark, Hamilton and Mrs. Lillian Garber of Elkhart.; and two brothers Rev. William ingalls Sherwood  Ore. and Dr.A.T. Ingalls   Los Angeles. Five grandchildren and one great
grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends Funeral services were held in the United     Brethern Church at Pleasant lake on Monday October 18 burial in Pleasant Lake Cemetery.
