Phyllis M Kannel, 99, of Montpelier, Ohio, died Monday at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier.

She was born Jan 31, 1900, in Metz, to Alonzo and Ellen (Smith) Williams.

Mrs. Kannel was a homemaker. She was a member of the Montpelier Church of Christ. She was also head resident of a female students house at Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio.

She is survived by two sons, Ira of Montpelier and Jerrold of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Priscilla A King of Fort Wayne, Connie Morgan of Seattle and Judy Greer of Wichita, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by eight sisters, five brothers and one great granddaughter, Tara Ragsdale in 1996.

Services were held Friday at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier, with burial in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.
