STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 18, 1900, page 8, column 3 JANE (GIBBENY) KELLOGG, 23 Aug 1836 - 12 Jul 1900 Jane Gibbeny was born in Crawford county, Ohio, August 23, 1836. Leaving Crawford county at the age of six years, she removed to Steuben county, Indiana. She was married to Charles Kellogg, July 1st, 1860. To this union were born two children, Alonzo and Ella, wife of Morton Carey, Alonzo having preceded her to the other world. She united with the M. E. church in 1870, and has ever since lived an earnest and consistent christian life, being a kind and generous neighbor and a loving wife and mother. Always had a kind and cheering word for those with whom she came in contact. She had been a constant sufferer for about fifteen years, taking her bed for her last illness about two months ago, resulting in her death which came on the evening of July 12th, 1900, aged 63 years, 10 months and 19 days.
