STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1902, page 1, column 6 SUSANNAH (REDMAN) KRATZER, 13 Feb 1818- 17 Dec 1902 Susannah Redman, daughter of Jacob and Catherine Redman was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, Feb. 13, 1818. She was the last of fourteen children to pass to the spirit land. She was married to Isaac Kratzer, Sept. 10, 1838. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters, the oldest daughter dying in her eighth year, Feb. 28, 1866. Susannah Kratzer died at her home three miles southeast of Angola, Ind., Dec. 17, 1902, aged 84 years, 10 months and 8 days. She became a member of the Lutheran church when quite young. There being no church of that denomination here, she united with the Congregational church under Rev. Andrus. She always lived a devoted Christian life and was a devoted wife and mother, her favorite song being "Sweet Home." Funeral services were held at the home and church, Saturday, Dec. 20, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Cyrus K. Stockwell, and the remains were laid at rest in Circle Hill cemetery. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN: Emanuel Krazer, 1839 - 1911, on 19 Apr 1868, married Ludinda (Thayer) Kratzer, 1846 - 1926. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Joseph Kratzer, 06 May 1845 - 05 Nov 1920, on 28 Aug 1870, married Margaret (Zabst) Kratzer, 1849 - 1913. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Catharine M. Kratzer, born about 27 Oct 1848 - died 27 Feb 1866, buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. The Steuben Republican, June 7, 1893, page 1, columns 3 and 4, "City of the Dead" article listing the persons buried at Old Angola Cemetery, has this item, "Katharine M., daughter of I. And S. Kratzer died, Feb 27, 1866, aged 17. The Cemetery Book also has a listing for Katherine M. at Old Angola in addition to the listing for Catherine M. at Circle Hill. The above obituary states she died in her eighth year but all these other items state she was 17. Possible daughter: Estella A. (Kratzer) Miller, 1853 - 1923, on 06 Feb 1878, married Charles H. Miller, 1855 - 1914. They are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery.
