LORANA (TUTTLE) LEMMON, 15 Apr 1840 - 12 May 1899 Lorana Tuttle, daughter of Lemmon and Filora Tuttle, wife of Riley Lemmon, was born at Pleasant Lake, Ind., April 15, 1840, and died at her home in Otsego township, May 12, 1899, aged 59 years and 27 days. She lived her life in the neighborhood of her birthplace, and was known and loved by a large circle of friends. She was married to Riley Lemmon, Feb. 20, 1862, and to the union were born nine children, three sons, Maurice, Mortimer and Chaplin, and six daughters, Mrs. S. H. Fuller, Mrs. W. Uncapher, Mrs. J. G. Chadwick, Vira, Bessie and Elsie, who with the husband mourn their loss. Mrs. Lemmon was a mother in all the name implies, and no sacrifice was too great for her to make for her family and those she loved. Her memory will be sacred to many people. Lorana was the daughter of Lemmon Tuttle, 14 Mar 1813 - 28 Jun 1881, and Filora (Gould) Tuttle, 14 Jun 1818 - 25 Dec 1880. They are all buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. David Riley Lemmon was the son of Lucinda (Rathbun) Lemmon, 14 Oct 1819 - 07 Feb 1868, and her 1st husband, Maurice Lemmon, 14 Feb 1813 - 09 Aug 1845. On 30 Jun 1846, Lucinda married a brother of her 1st husband, David Lemmon, 10 Jun 1815 - 08 Apr 1856. She had 4 children by each husband. Lucinda is buried with her 2nd husband at Clark Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana, abd Maurice is also buried in the same cemetery. CHILDREN OF LORANA AND DAVID RILEY LEMMON: Maurice C. Lemmon, 09 Nov 1864, on 06 Dec 1884, married Anna B. (Beecher) Lemmon, 1866 - 1953. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Anna was the daughter of Truman A. and Stateria (Brown) Beecher. Cora M. (Lemmon) Cowan Fuller, 1864 - 1943, on 11 Feb 1886, married her 1st husband, Edward I. Cowan, 21 Dec 1856 - 27 Jan 1892, son of John Cowan Jr, 1820 - 1872, and Alice Delphena (Swift) Cowan, 1833 - 1907. Edward and his parents are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. On 06 Feb 1894, she married her 2nd husband, Dr. Stephen H. Fuller, 18 Mar 1847 - 21 Jun 1910, with whom she is buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Morton/Mortimer D. Lemmon, 1866 - 1935, on 08 Oct 1890, married Ida May (Menges) Lemmon, 1870 - 1959. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Lora (Lemmon) Uncapher, 1869 - 1937, on 28 Jan 1892, married William H. Uncapher, 1863 - 1936. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Chaplin H. Lemmon, 1872 - 1959, on 22 Feb 1894, in DeKalb County, Indiana, married Hattie Mary (Gramling) Lemmon, 01 Nov 1871 - 30 Oct 1928. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Vira Ellen (Lemmon) Powers, 1874 - 1937, on 18 Mar 1900 married Don O. Powers, 03 Nov 1870 - 1952. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Don was the son of George Washington Powers, 30 Sep 1844 - 31 Mar 1918, and Eliza Olive (Dillingham) Powers, 22 Jul 1847 - 03 Jan 1926 who are buried at Circle Hill Cemetery. Bessie B. (Lemmon) Matson, 11879 - 1961, on 31 Jul 1900 married John Omar Matson, 04 Nov 1878 - 1942. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. John was the son of Lewis I. Matson, 19 Oct 1844 - no date of death, and Orcelia R. (Clark) Matson, 01 Mar 1845 - 29 Jan 1906, who are buried at Clark Cemetery. Ethel V. (Lemmon) Chadwick, 1877, no date of death, on 21 Sep 1898, married John Guy Chadwick, no dates listed. They are buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Elsie (Lemmon) Huffman, no dates listed, married Russell C. Huffman, 03 Apr 1909 - 10 Apr 1980, son of Blaine C. Huffman, 29 Aug 1882 - 25 Jul 1952, and Carrie (Closson) Huffman, 12 May 1883 - 12 Dec 1977. They are all buried at Pleasant Lake Cemetery.
