CATHERINE (PHENECIE) LIGHT, 05 Feb 1836 - 01 Feb 1906

   Daughter of George and Mary Ann Phenicie, was born in 
Bedford county, Penn., Feb. 5, 1836, and died at her home in 
Angola, Feb. 1, 1906, aged 69 years, 11 months and 27 days.  
She was joined in marriage with Andrew J. Light, March 11, 
1862, and to this union were born four sons and three 
daughters, two daughters dying in infancy and the youngest 
son when 15 years of age, leaving to mourn the husband, a 
daughter, Mrs. A. H. Averill, of Portland, Oregon, and three 
sons.  She was a good wife and mother and highly respected 
neighbor and friend.  Of the Steuben pioneer family there yet 
remain on this side of the river of death, four sisters, 
Sarah Eels of Albion, Indiana; Jane Young, Los Angeles, 
California; Ann Hobert, Harpers Ferry, Ohio, and Harriet 
Divelbess, Cook, Neb., and four brothers, James, Williams and 
George at Reno, Kansas, and John, at Rockyford, Colorado.  
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 4, at the 
South Scott church, conducted by Elder Vernon Stauffer.

   Catherine (Phenecie/Phinicie) Light, 05 Feb 1836 - 01 Feb 
1906, was the 2nd wife of Andrew J. Light, 07 Oct 1835 - 10 
Jun 1911, son of Henry Light, 1796 - 1865, and Sophronia 
(______) Light, 1812 - 1893, who as a widow married George 
Swartz on 24 Aug 1871.  Catherine and Andrew are buried at 
South Scott Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  Catherine was 
the daughter of George W. and Mary Ann Phenecie.  The name is 
spelled PHENECIE in the Cemetery Books.

   Josephine S. Light, 21 Dec 1863 - 06 Dec 1865, buried at 
South Scott Cemetery.
   James Grant Light, 1865 - 1933, on 25 Dec 1890, married 
Mary E. (Zimmer) Light, 20 Nov 1867 - 01 Jan 1929.  They are 
buried at South Scott Cemetery. 
   Della/Jennie (Light) Averill (Mrs. A. H.), born about 
1867.
   Edith M. Light, 12 Mar 1869 - 14 Sep 1871, buried at South 
Scott Cemetery.
   Arthur Light, born about 1872.
   George P. Light, born about 1874.
   Frank O. Light, 19 Oct 1875 - 29 Jan 1891, buried at South 
Scott Cemetery.

LIGHT:
   Henry L. Light, 23 Mar 1869 - 17 Jun 1938, on 04 Jul 1881, 
married Martha Eleanor (Beebe) Light, 22 Nov 1859 - 02 May 
1923.  They are buried at South Scott Cemetery.

   Andrew married 3rd on 13 Nov 1906, Catherine (_______) 
Stallman, 17 Feb 1835 - 07 May 1912, possibly the widow of C. 
F. Louie Stallman buried at Powers Cemetery, Steuben County, 
Indiana.
