JOHN J. LING, 13 Jan 1827 - 13 Apr 1902

   John J. Ling was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, Jan. 13, 1827, and 
died April 13, 1902, aged 75 years and 3 months.  He came to Indiana April 
11, 1848.  Was married to Susanna Gonser, April 8, 1852.  This union was 
blessed with five children, three daughters and two sons, Emily, Mary E., 
Ida J., David F., and Edwin.  Mary E. preceded him to the Spirit world 
June 4, 1889.  He leaves to mourn his departure, his companion, four 
children, three sisters, four brothers, thirteen grandchildren, two great 
grandchildren and a host of friends.  They settled on the farm on which 
they have lived until the present time.  He was a loving husband, kind 
father and was respected by all.  He was a constant member of the M. E. 
church for 31 years.  He suffered for years, but bore his suffering with 
great patience.  Funeral services were held at Fairfield Center, Rev. M. 
C. Pittenger officiating, assisted by Rev. J. H. Elson.  Interment at 
Fairfield cemetery.

   John J. Ling, 13 Jan 1827 - 13 Apr 1902, married Susanna/Susan (Gonser) 
Ling, 16 Oct 1833 - 20 Aug 1912.  Burial place for Susanna unknown.  John 
was the son of Peter Ling, 1799 - 28 Jan 1882, on 21 Apr 1826, married  
Dorcas (Russell) Ling, 1806 - 02 May 1886.  Susanna was the daughter of 
David Gonser, born in 1807, and Catherine (Miller) Gonser, born in 1811.

CHILDREN:

   Emily (Ling) Bair, born about 1853, married Ashton Bair, burial place 
unknown.
   Mary Ellen (Ling) Krum, 09 Mar 1854 - either the 1st or 4th of Jun 1889, 
was the 1st wife of Samuel Eugene Krum, 03 Sep 1853 - 25 Oct 1917.  His 2nd 
wife was Della (Schultz) Krum, 05 Oct 1871 - 30 Jul 1941.  They are buried 
at County Line Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Ida Jane (Ling) Wert, born about 1858, married Peter Wert, burial place 
not known.
   David F. Ling, born about 1859 - 1925, married Adella H. (Frederick) 
Ling, 1861 - 1939, buried at O-Hudson Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Edwin Ling, 09 Nov 1861 - 20 Feb 1939, on 02 May 1890, married 
Henrietta Amanda Ann (Vogtman) Ling, 22 Dec 1867 - 21 Apr 1926.  Edwin 
died in Northville, Michigan.  Henrietta died in Hudson, Indiana.
