STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 1901, page 1, column 6 AMELIA (TAYLOR) CLEVELAND LININGER, 15 Dec 1832 - 06 Aug 1901 Amelia Taylor was born in Marion county, Ohio, on the 15th day of December, 1832. Died at her home in Otsego township, August 6th, 1901, aged 68 years, 7 months and 11 days. She moved with her parents to Steuben Co. Ind., in the spring of 1840. Was married to Fredrick Cleveland on the 31st day of December, 1850, and to this union were born seven children of which three, Ansel Cleveland, of Milford, Kansas, Mrs. Frank Deller and Mrs. Francis Lininger, both of Steuben county remain. Fredrick Cleveland died Feb. 15th, 1864. She was then married to John Lininger on the 23(?) day of April, 1865. To this union were born four children; but one, Mrs. Elmer Rinehart, remains. John Lininger died July 28, 1898. Besides these children, three step-children, nineteen grand- children, three great grand-children, a brother and a host of friends and neighbors are left to mourn their loss. She united with the Methodist church about 30 years ago and remained a faithful member until death. She called the family to her bed-side bidding them good-bye, told them she was going home, and asked them to meet her in heaven. Well might we say with one of the good writers of old, "She hath finished her work. She hath done what she could." Funeral by A. G. Neal, at South Scott church.
