JOSEPH LOWER, 07 Jan 1834 - 23 Aug 1908

                      Joseph Lower,
   Son of Samuel and Martha Lower, was born in Tuscarawas 
county, Ohio, Jan, 7th, 1834, and died Aug. 23rd, 1908.  Aged 
74 years, 7 months and 16 days.  He was next to the youngest 
of thirteen children only one of whom survive him, his 
sister, Mrs. Martha Williams.  On Oct. 30, 1856, he was 
married to Elija (error/should be Eliza) Morgan.  To this 
union were born nine children, five sons and four daughters.  
Two daughters and his wife preceded him to the better land.  
Besides his sister and children he also leaves sixteen 
grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.
   When 18 years old he was converted and united with the 
church and was a faithful christian all his life.  At the 
time of his death he was a member of the M. E. church in 
Angola, Ind.
   Fourteen years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and 
ever after was feeble, he had a second stroke shortly before 
death.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the 
home of his son Watson Lower, five miles south of Hicksville, 
where he died.  Rev. Helms in charge.  Burial at Hamilton, 
Ind.

(Morgan) Lower, 12 Aug 1839 - 16 Jun 1882.  They are buried 
at Hamilton Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

   Watson Lower, born in 1858 in Steuben County, Indiana.
   Amanda (Lower) Bell, 1860 - 1919, on 29 Aug 1878, married 
Lorenzo D. Bell, 1854 - 1917.  They are buried at Hamilton 
Cemetery.
   Alice Lower, born in 1862 in Steuben County, Indiana.
   Lucinda Lower, born in 1864 in Steuben County, Indiana.
   Willie Lower, born in 1868 in Steuben County, Indiana.
   Winn/Winfield F. Lower, 18 Mar 1871 - 15 Jul 1949, on 04 
Aug 1894, married Margaret (Ralston) Lower, 12 Nov 1873 - 16 
Oct 1966.  They are buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Steuben 
County, Indiana.  Margaret was the daughter of John P. 
Ralston, 25 Jan 1847 - 21 Feb 1904, and Susan (Cline) 
Ralston, born 09 Mar 1851, no date of death.  Her parents are 
buried at Crockett Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Frances L. (Lower) Metzgar, 1875 - 1901, on 10 Mar 1894, 
married Homer Metzgar, 1870 - 1941.  They are buried at 
Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.
   Orla G. Lowe, born in 1879 in Steuben County, Indiana.
