SYBILLA (FOLTZ) GRAMLING MARKLEY, 29 Apr 1812 - 15 Oct 1902

   Sybilla Foltz was born in Lebanon county, Penn., April 29, 1812, and 
after a brief illness departed this life Oct. 15, 1902, at the advanced 
age of 90 years, 5 months and 16 days.
   She was baptized in infancy, and after striving at the proper age was 
instructed in the doctrines of the Lutheran church and was received into 
full membership by the solemn rite of confirmation, at the age of 15 
years.  In 1840 she moved to Stark county, Ohio, and in 1847 was united in 
marriage with Henry Gramling.  In 1851, they moved to DeKalb county, Ind., 
and in 1854 her husband died.  She was a widow for two years, during which 
time she moved to Greene county, Ohio, and on June 3, 1856, she was again 
united in marriage with John Markley.  While there she transferred her 
membership to the Reformed church at Hudson, Ind., of which church she was 
a faithful, devoted member until death.  She was the mother of six 
children, all of whom and both companions preceded her to the eternal 
world.  She was faithful to her church vows, an affectionate wife, a kind 
mother and a friend to all.  She leaves five grandchildren and many 
relatives and friends to mourn her departure.  Their loss, we trust, is 
her eternal gain.
   Funeral services were held at the U. B. church in Pleasant Lake, Oct. 
17, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. A. Seitz, assisted by the Revs. 
Ransburg and Coverstone.  The funeral discourse was based upon Psalm 35, 
6; the deceased's own selection.  Interment in Pleasant Lake cemetery.  
Peace to her ashes.

   Sybilla (Foltz) Gramling Markley, 29 Apr 1812 - 15 Oct 1902, aged 90 
years, 5 months and 16 days, married 1st in 1847(?), Henry Gramling who 
died 14 Apr 1854, aged 28 years, 1 month and 11 days. Henry is buried at 
County Line Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.  Sybilla is buried with her 
2nd husband, John Markley, 26 Dec 1799 - 15 Mar 1888, at Pleasant Lake 
Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

   Dgtr:  Maria Gramling, died 15 May 1854, age 18 years, 4 months and __ 
days, buried at County Line Cemetery.  (Note:  Maria would have been born 
in 1836, 11 years before the parent's marriage if the year 1847 is correct 
or the age is incorrect.
   Dgtr:  Mary Gramling, died 23 Feb 18453, aged 17 days, buried at County 
Line Cemetery.
   Note:  If Henry Gramling's age of 28 years at death is correct, he 
would have been born in 1826, making him 19 when he married a woman of 35.  
Possibly the date of marriage is incorrect or Henry's age in the Cemetery 
book is incorrect.  Possibly there is some other source for verification 
of all the information.
