STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, JULY 24, 1901, page 1, column 5 HELEN (FARNHAM) McCLUE, 03 Apr 1846 - 19 Jul 1901 Helen, daughter of Erastus and Lucinda Farnham, was born near Fremont, Ind., April 3rd, 1846, died at her home July 19, 1901, aged 55 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was married to Thomas McClue, Sept. 1st, 1869, and to this union was born one daughter, Luella, who with the husband, sister, brother, two stepsons and other relatives are left to mourn her loss. For a time before her marriage she was a teacher and was loved alike by pupil and patron. She was an active member, for some time, of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union and was much interested in this and other work for the betterment of mankind. The deceased was an untiring worker, kind and sympathetic in time of sickness and trouble, with always a cheery word and a bright countenance for those who knew her. For some time she has been grievously afflicted and since last December, was confined to her bed, but has borne her misfortunes and sufferings with patient submission and was sustained and comforted in this long sickness by her family, a kind nurse and friends, who did everything for her comfort that could be devised. The life and work of the deceased will not be forgotten, but cherished in loving memory by all who knew her. The funeral was held at the home Sunday July 21, 1901, L. W. They are buried at Jordan Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. His 1st wife was Henrietta (Kemp) McClue who died 17 Aug 1868 aged 34 years. She is buried at Lake Gage Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Daughter: Luella (McClue) Clark, 1876 - 1962, married Ray Clark, 1876 - 1962. They are buried at Fremont Cemetery, Steuben county, Indiana. Stepsons: Granville L. McClue, 13 Jan 1859 - 02 Jul 1928, married 1st, Florence E. (Mallory) McClue, 08 Nov 1861 - 16 Jul 1912, daughter of Asa and Sytheria (Wright) Mallory. Granville and Florence are buried at Jamestown Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. He married 2nd Edith May (Munger) Craig McClue, 14 Feb 1873 - 02 Dec 1962, daughter of Orin and Mary Jane (Ayers) Munger. Edith May is buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Edith May was married 1st to Fred Craig, 1865 - 1927, buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana; 2nd, to Granville L. McClue; 3rd, to DeWitt Ewers, 1868 - 1955, buried at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Steuben county, Indiana. No information on the other stepson. Helen's twin sister, Mary (Farnham) Willis, 03 Apr 1846 - 1914, was married 1st to Henry Willis. She married 2nd Charles McClue, 27 Dec 1842 - 22 Feb 1920 with whom she is buried at Jordan Cemetery.
