STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 1900, page 5, column 5 ELIZABETH (HANSELMAN) MENGES, 06 Oct 1834 - 02 May 1900 DIED at her home in Scott township, May 2, 1900, Mrs. Elizabeth Menges, aged 65 years, 6 months and 27 days. Elizabeth Hanselman was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, and moved with her parents to Steuben county in 1845, where she resided until death. She was united in marriage with Israel Menges, March 4, 1865, who preceded her to the better land. She obeyed the gospel in June, 1852, and has lived a most devoted life. Four brothers, two sisters and a host of kind friends are left to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Elder Medbury. STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 1900, page 5, column 3 Elizabeth Menges, of Scott township, widow of Israel Menges, died very suddenly Wednesday of last week. Her brother, Daniel R. Hanselman, lived with her, and went away from home that morning leaving her in usual good health. He returned about three o'clock in the afternoon and found her dead on her bed. She had put out a washing, and done up her dinner work, and apparently had laid down for a rest. On 22 Mar 1819,in Columbiana, Ohio, he married Mary (Lower) Hanselman who was born 04 Mar 1803 in West Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.
