EMMA MOOR Emma Williams, daughter of Aaron and Hannah Williams, was born near Metz, Steuben county, Indiana, Feb. 7, 1866, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Neva Dixon, at Angola, Indiana, Dec. 21, 1933, aged 67 years, 10 months and 10 days. She was united in marriage to Marcus Moor, Dec. 24th, 1885. To this union nine children were born: Mrs. Blanche Kinkade, of Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Lena Schmeiser of Rush, Colorado; Archie Moore, of Richland township; Carl Moor, of Angola; Paul Moore, of Metz; Harold Moore, of Montpelier, Ohio; Mrs. Neva Dixon, Angola; Florence Bingaman, Edon, Ohio; and Mrs. Dorothy Scott, of Fremont, Indiana. Gale Adair, a grandson, grew up in the home, and upon whom she bestowed a mother’s care and devotion. She was converted in a revival held by Wm. and Celia Hageman, in 1900, and with the husband, Marcus Moor, now deceased, united with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, and remained a faithful member until called to be with her Savior. She was afflicted for several years but always bore her affliction with Christian grace. Her outstanding strength of character was her faith in God, and her unselfish devotion to family and home. Her entire life was spent in the Metz community, where she enjoyed a wide acquaintance. Her husband preceded her in death in December, 1916. She was the youngest of a family of twelve children of which only one survive, George Williams, of Angola. She leaves to mourn their loss, four sons and five daughters, four daughters-in-law, five sons-in-law, twenty-eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and many more distant relatives and a wide circle of friends. The funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 23rd, at the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren church, Rev. Ralph Morse officiating, Rev. Geo. Suple assisting. Burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
