From the Steuben Republican (Angola, Indiana), 20 Dec 1916 MARCUS T. MOOR Marcus T. Moor was born in Northwest Township, Ohio, Sept. 17, 1857, and died at his home one half mile west of Metz, Ind., Dec. 1, 1916. The community has lost one of its most valuable citizens. His upright principles, and straightforward life endeared him to all who knew him. His early life was spent east of Metz with his parents. He was one of the successful farmers of the vicinity. One of the rules that brought him success was to sell when everybody was buying and buy when everybody was selling. His well improved farms show what he accomplished by perseverance and hard work. He was married to Emma Williams, Dec. 24, 1885. Nine children were born to them: four boys and five girls. All of them are living—Blanche Kinkade in Spokane, Wash., Lena Schmeiser, in Rusch, Cal.; Archie and Carl, living near Highland Center, Steuben County, Ind.; Paul, Harold, Neva, Florence, and Dorothy, at home. There are eight grandchildren. The funeral was held at the East Metz U.B. Church, of which he had been an honored member for thirteen years, the sermon being preached by the pastor, Rev. George Seiple. He served faithfully in the official capacity of Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years. He also was a member of the Board of Trustees of church and parsonage and was on the building committees in the erection of both. Resolutions Inasmuch as God in his wise forbearance has called from labor to reward our brother and co-laborer Marcus T. Moor, therefore be it resolved that we the members of Mt. Pleasant Church in Quarterly Conference as enabled, express our deep sorrow at his untimely death while we keenly feel our loss from our midst, and shall miss his wise counsel in the business department of the church, we bow in sorrow and submission to the divine wisdom and will of our Heavenly Father, and pray that his matle may fall on some one who will take his place; and, further, be it. Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on the minutes of our Quarterly Conference Journal. On motion the above was adopted. JAS. W. PORTER, Secy.
