STEUBEN REPUBLICAN, WEDNESDAY, APFIL 16, 1902, page 1, column 6 MALINDA (HAINES) PARKER, 06 Feb 1848 - 06 Apr 1902 Malinda Haines was born in Carroll county, Ohio, Feb. 6, 1848, and died at her home in Salem township, April 6, 1902, aged 54 years and 2 months. Since 1852 her home has been in Steuben county. She was married Jan. 1, 1867, to Samuel Parker, and to this union were born seven children. Five sons and twin daughers, the latter dying in infancy. There is left to mourn their great loss, a husband, five sons, George, Thomas, Earl, Orlah, and Logan; two sisters, Miss Sarah Haines of Burr Oak, Mich., and Mrs. Geo. Hopkins of Salem Center; three brothers, William Haines, of Nebraska; Eli Haines, Burr Oak, Michigan; Thomas Haines, Orland, Indiana, and eight grandchildren. For many years she had been a member of the Presbyterian church, which was but a few steps from her home and very few Sundays passed that did not find her at God's house of worship. She died as she lived, happy in the Savior's love, and her dying words were, "Christ's grace is sufficient for all." Funeral services were held at the Block church, April 9, conducted by Elder C. S. Malinda was the daughter of William Haines, 19 Apr 1808 - 14 Jan 1880, and Rebecca (Smith) Haines, 15 Oct 1808 - 14 May 1884 who are buried at Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. CHILDREN: George H. Parker, 1867 - 1944, on 08 Jan 1891, married Cora Mary (Kimsey) Parker, 1870 (1869 in Kimsey History) - 10 Nov 1937. They are buried at Block Cemetery. Orlah (Ora A. on marriage license) married Helen A. Gillespie on 1 Dec 1897 with a Steuben County, Indiana, marriage license. Logan E. Parker, 16 Aug 1884 - 30 Mar 1967, on 15 Feb 1908, married Cinnie Elnora (Tritch) Parker, 16 Feb 1886 - 29 Oct 1970, daughter of John and Dora (Wright) Tritch. Logan and Cinnie are buried at Block Cemetery. Twin daughters died 22 Aug 18__, buried at Block Cemetery. SIBLINGS: Jennie (Haines) Hopkins, 1853 - 1931, married George Hopkins, 1857 - 1933, buried at Block Cemetery. Eli I. Haines, 1850 - 1927, married Mary A. (Summers) Haines, 1855 - 1912, buried at Block Cemetery. Thomas W. Haines, 28 Feb 1840 - 24 Aug 1917, married Nancy (Beebe) Ryan Haines, 1838 - 1925, widow of N. Horton Ryan. Thomas and Nancy are buried at Flint Cemetery. Zacry (Zachafy?) T. Haines, 06 Jan 1849 - 14 Mar 1869, buried at Flint Cemetery.
